Webflow is a visual website builder that outputs clean code. Designers use it to build marketing sites, landing pages and CMS-driven blogs without hand-coding, and larger companies use its enterprise tier.
It is the established name that newer tools like Framer, Relume and AI builders get compared against.
Webflow is private, its last audited-style numbers are old, and most 2026 data comes from detection tools, review sites and event coverage.

Webflow market share
W3Techs showed these shares on October 20, 2026:
| Platform | Share of all websites | Share of known CMS market |
|---|---|---|
| WordPress | 39.6% | 58.3% |
| Shopify | 5.3% | 7.9% |
| Wix | 4.2% | 6.2% |
| Squarespace | 2.4% | 3.6% |
| Joomla | 1.1% | 1.6% |
| Tilda | 0.8% | 1.2% |
| Webflow | 0.8% | 1.2% |
| Duda | 0.7% | 1.1% |
| GoDaddy Website Builder | 0.6% | 0.9% |
| Framer | 0.2% | 0.3% |
- Trend: A Colorlib article of October 1, 2026, citing W3Techs, put Webflow at 0.9% a year earlier and 0.8% now. A Digidop agency blog from August 2026 describes the same slip from 0.9% to 0.8% across August 2025 to August 2026. These are small moves on one-decimal rounding, so read them as “flat to slightly down,” not a collapse.
- By traffic rank: W3Techs’ page for Webflow did not give a rank or readable trend values.
- Example sites W3Techs lists include Discord.com, Soundcloud.com, Flickr.com, Anthropic.com and Gcash.com. W3Techs notes some use Webflow only on a subdomain or inner pages.
- Top-domain claim I could not verify: Digidop’s blog says Webflow powers 15% of the world’s top 5,000 domains, citing Cloudflare Radar. The link it gave points to a 2025 review and the page gives no method, so I did not use it.
Webflow Customers and scale
- 300,000+ companies use Webflow, and there are 1,500+ Certified Webflow Partners, per the boilerplate of Webflow’s September 17, 2025 press release about its AI launch.
- 2022 figures (the last detailed ones): Webflow reported over 3.5 million users, 450,000+ sites built in 2021, and 10 billion+ monthly visits to hosted sites, with about 200,000 customers (Pulse 2.0, March 2022, citing the company’s announcement and CEO Vlad Magdalin).
- Enterprise share (2022): Forbes reported about 8% of revenue came from enterprise customers, per TechCrunch (March 18, 2022).
- Webflow’s media page shows a “trusted by” row with Ideo, Monday.com, BBDO, The New York Times, TED and Docusign, and gives no customer count.
The 2022 and 2025 customer counts are not like for like: “customers” and “companies” may be defined differently, so do not calculate growth between them.
Webflow Funding, valuation and revenue
| Date | Event | Detail | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jan 2021 | Series B | $140 million at $2.1 billion | TechCrunch, Mar 18, 2022 |
| Mar 2022 | Series C | $120 million at $4 billion, led by Y Combinator’s Continuity fund | Pulse 2.0, Mar 2022 |
| Mar 2022 | Total raised | More than $330 million | Pulse 2.0 |
- Revenue: Magdalin described Webflow as a “$100M ARR business” in March 2022. TechCrunch said it was within weeks of that figure, and Forbes reported over $10 million in annualized revenue in 2019. Magdalin said the business doubled in 2020 and was cash-flow positive that year.
- Since 2022: I found no new funding round, valuation or official revenue figure. A data site, GetLatka, lists revenue estimates of $128 million for December 2023 and $212.5 million for October 2024 and a different funding history. It does not explain its method and its funding table does not match TechCrunch and Pulse 2.0, so I did not use its numbers.
- Employees: GetLatka lists 1,565 in November 2025, citing LinkedIn, up from 1,342 in September 2024, citing Forbes. I could not confirm either figure.
- Leadership and layoffs: Linda Tong is CEO. CMSWire reported in September 2026 that 2024 layoffs affected 8% of the company, citing a written statement from Tong, and that a second layoff round was reported in May 2026 with no headcount given.
Webflow Pricing
Webflow’s own pricing page would not load for me today, so these are two third-party guides from March 2026, both of which carry affiliate links and say prices may have changed.
Check Webflow’s site before you quote any price.
Site plans (per website, annual billing)
| Plan | Annual | Monthly billing | Key limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Free | Free | webflow.io subdomain, 50 CMS items, 1 GB bandwidth |
| Basic | $14 a month | $18 | Custom domain, no CMS, 10 GB bandwidth |
| CMS | $23 a month | $29 | 2,000 CMS items, 50 GB bandwidth |
| Business | From $39 a month | From $49 | 10,000 to 20,000 CMS items, 100 GB to 2.5 TB bandwidth |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom limits, SLA, security |
Workspace plans (per seat)
| Plan | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Core | $19 a month | Code export and custom code |
| Growth | $49 a month | SSO and team libraries |
| Freelancer | $16 a month (one guide lists it free) | Up to 3 members |
| Agency | $35 a month | Advanced roles, white labeling |
Ecommerce plans (annual billing)
| Plan | Price | Products | Transaction fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $29 a month | 500 | 2% |
| Plus | $74 a month | 5,000 | 0% |
| Advanced | $212 a month | 15,000 | 0% |
The two guides disagree on whether the Freelancer workspace plan is free or $16 a month, which shows why you should verify on Webflow’s page.
Customer ratings
- G2: 4.4 out of 5 from 995 reviews (page dated October 17, 2026). The page did not list pros and cons.
- G2’s side-by-side comparison page with Wix Studio shows Webflow at 4.4 from 996 reviews and Wix Studio at 4.6 from 83, with no data date.
Webflow and AI
- September 17, 2025: Webflow announced Webflow AI, a “prompt-to-production” bundle with an AI Assistant, AI Code Gen, Code Components, AI SEO and CMS updates. Chief Product Officer Rachel Wolan said code-gen tools create a first draft in minutes but “it can take weeks to get to the last mile” (Webflow press release via The Gazette).
- April 30, 2026: According to a Webflow partner agency blog (secondhand, unverified), Webflow made AI code components available to all customers, publishing needs a paid plan, and said App Gen development is paused, with existing apps continuing on Webflow Cloud. Confirm this against Webflow’s changelog before citing it.
- September 2026, Webflow Conf in Boston: Webflow announced Source, which CMSWire (Sep 3, 2026) describes as a code-first architecture where code, not the visual canvas, is the source of truth. CEO Linda Tong said the original canvas was “a visual abstraction of code.” One agency recap says Source is in limited research preview with no release date and lists beta features such as whole-site branching, Campaigns and Assets. That recap comes from a Webflow partner agency, so verify dates with Webflow.
- MCP adoption: Chief Product Officer Ben Haefele said enterprise customers connecting through the Model Context Protocol went from roughly 2% at the start of 2026 to over 50% (CMSWire, Sep 3, 2026). That is a company statement about its enterprise customers, with no sample size.
- Cost claim: Tong estimated a one-prompt build is about 5% of the total cost of ownership of a site (CMSWire, Sep 3, 2026). It is her estimate.
What the Webflow numbers suggest?
- Webflow’s share is flat to slightly down. It slipped from 0.9% to 0.8% of all websites over a year, and W3Techs does not show a clear trend.
- The financial data is four years old. The last disclosed valuation ($4 billion) and ARR ($100 million) date to 2022.
- The company is changing direction. Source moves the platform from a visual canvas toward code, and the App Gen pause (if confirmed) shows the AI roadmap shifting.
- Ratings are strong at scale. 4.4 from 995 reviews is a large sample next to most rivals in this series.
- Cost depends on seats and sites. Site plans and workspace seats are priced separately, so total cost climbs with team size.
